The Story so Far
We don’t like to brag, but we’re proud of the strength of our partnership working in Salford. The creation of the Integrated Care Organisation (ICO) three years ago was a real stepping stone in unifying health and social care for adults in the city. The ICO was formed to make care for people more seamless by putting health professionals such as mental health nurses, district nurses and social workers together in the same organisation.
Salford Primary Care Together was formed in October 2016. We are a community interest company which means we have a commercial approach to the way we operate, but our profits are only used for improving the health of the people of Salford.
We’ve been on a real journey since 2016. We are running services under high demand, we are changing the way that things have previously been done, we are balancing the books, we are working hard to build relationships, we are making difficult decisions….there’s no shying away from the hard things our organisation has to do. We are living in challenging times, but they are also exciting times and we are proud of how we’ve made a difference.
Here’s some of things we feel quite chuffed about.
- An ‘Outstanding’ CQC Care Rating for one of our GP Practices
- Having a dedicated GP service for homeless people
- Being awarded national funding for mental health
- Offering evening and weekend GP appointments
- Being a Living Wage employer
- TV coverage for one of our fantastic social prescribing pilots
There’s more about our achievements here.
If you have the passion, energy, enthusiasm and resilience to help us on our journey, then you’re on your way to becoming part of something exciting and new.
